Once again Texas Institute of Orthopedic Surgery And Sports Medicine will serves as an official sponsor of Soccerfest 2012. In addition Dr Khan will assist in organizing and providing medical coverage with the assistance of local therapy providers. Soccerfest will be held at different venues in Southlake, Grapevine and Colleyville to accommodate several visiting teams. This event requires a large scale medical coverage plan. According to Dr. Khan collaboration with local health care providers was an example of our community stepping up to provide our local and participating athletes with a safe and high level of medical care during the event.

The monthly orthopedic evening lecture series: “Healing Your Pain: Understand Your Bone and Joint Health” provided an an extremely successful initial presentation on July 18^th, 2011 by Dr Amir Khan. As a result there will be an encore presentation to accommodate the demand of his lecture.

Texas Institute of Orthopedic Surgery And Sports Medicine teams up with CSA. On February 5th, 2011, Dr Khubchandani spoke at the coaches meeting to provide basic education in medical care including fracture and injury splinting techniques. TiOS also provided all of the coaches with athletic duffel bags containing critical splinting and first aid supplies which the coaches keep on the sidelines for the immediate care of the injured athlete. Dr Khubchandani added: “We are proud to team up with CSA to care for the participating athletes by providing education and immediate access to a high level of medical and orthopedic care”.

Texas Institute of Orthopedic Surgery And Sports Medicine was selected to provide medical coverage at the “CSA FunDay and 5K”.

Dr Khubchandani was instrumental in organizing and providing medical coverage at the venue. According to Dr. Khubchandani, “We are proud to continue our commitment to CSA and to care for the runners at the 5K run. The event was extremely successful”.

On August 6th 2011, a referee development clinic will be held at the Grapevine Community Center (9:00 – 12:00). As many as 50 – 60 referees from Grapevine, Southlake, Keller, Trophy Club, Hurst and Bedford will participate. Dr Zubin Khubchandani in partnership with CSA will serve as a speaker on the topic Hydration/Sports Injury . “This reaffirms our educational commitment to CSA and our local community.”

When Dr. Amir Khan established Texas Institute of Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine, L.L.P. (TiOS) in Coppell last year, his plan was to slowly grow the practice and provide the surrounding area with a very high level of care in all aspects of orthopedics.

Texas Institute of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine is proud to be a sponsor of the 2nd Annual Dragon Basketball Pink Zone Game. TiOS is proud to support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The game is scheduled for February 4, 2011 at the Carroll Senior High School, game times are 6:00 p.m. for the Varsity Lady Dragons and 7:30 p.m. for the Varsity Men’s Dragons. TiOS staff and physicians will be wearing pink to cheer on the Dragons as we all help to battle cancer.
